Searching for a subject to try out the technique of low relief I was taken by the sculptural form of a musician playing the viola da gamba. Based upon a photograph of Layil Barr http://milunamusic.com/project/layil-barr-viol-recorder/ playing with Sefo Kanuteh in Bury St Edmunds in March 2017, this was my first attempt.
