Recent Work

Ever searching for new themes/ideas I have been exploring again ‘Figures in spaces’ and ‘Ceramic masks’ while picking up on incidental experiences for inspiration, working in ceramic and ceramic-with-metalwork.

Exhibited at the Waveney Sculpture Trail 2018, this piece attracted the attention of many school students for drawing and story telling. It carries its own narrative – you just have to work out what it is……

Inspired by a prehistoric standing stone at Carnac in France, this ceramic work recreates the sense of the figure emerging from the stone. (h 32 cm)

These two very different works explore the theme of the emerging figure. The triptych (piece 1) was inspired by the French artist Charles Maussion. The larger metal work could be the start of a new theme……

Late at night, three tired young men escape the crush of a music festival. Title ‘Homeless’ (h 27 cm), this low relief has some sense of Henry Moore’s Shelter drawings.
